The love we share with our pets is deep and powerful.  They become our constant companions, our confidants and often our healers.  They ask so little of us.  Yet, in a compassionate community it is our wish and our responsibility to care for and protect them.  This is our promise.

Volunteering at MVHS

Minnesota Valley Humane Society depends on the help of volunteers.  There are many different volunteer positions that are integral to the workings of the shelter.  At the moment we have over 300 volunteers who walk dogs; socialize cats, bunnies and small critters; answer the phones; help with adoptions, surrenders, office work and more.  We have volunteers that are needed to help with special events, outreach, and our fundraising department.  You can help in many different areas and know that your contributions help our animals!

P.A.W.S. Program

The P.A.W.S. Program (Pet Adoption Without Surrender) is ideal for people giving up their pets who are not in circumstances requiring the pet to be immediately surrendered. In this program, the pet is kept in its current residence yet promoted for adoption via the Minnesota Valley Humane Society.
